About

Prime Home Journal is for curious readers who want to understand the rooms and buildings they encounter every day. We cover domestic architecture, interiors and the choices that give a home its character, without treating every room as a renovation project.

What we look at

Our coverage moves between the structure of a house and the experience of living in it. We explore architectural forms, room layouts, furniture, materials and light, paying attention to how one decision can alter the feeling or use of a space.

Who it is for

Whether you are looking closely at your own rooms, visiting a historic house or simply wondering why a space feels the way it does, our features offer ideas and vocabulary for noticing more. You do not need specialist knowledge to join in.

Our approach

We favour clear explanations, useful comparisons and context over declarations about what every home should look like. A room has its own proportions, purpose and occupants; we treat those particulars as part of the story.
